Upon your first visit, you'll need to read and sign the Clinic Consent Form authorizing KokoroCare to engage in treatment with you.
Online forms are convenient and easy to store, but we also require this one form to be signed, in-person, by all.
Please let your practitioner know if you have any questions, concerns, or active medical conditions prior to treatment.
Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
Take care while parking, and plan for an easy departure for after your treatment.
You can also park on the grass on Castle Cross. Please avoid congesting the intersection.
Hand washing with warm water and soap for 20 seconds is an excellent way to reduce transmission of plenty of contagious diseases.
Please make use of our hand sanitizer or wash your hands upon arrival. It's also helpful to use the toilet before treatment.
Good hygiene makes treatments easier and safer.
Wear comfortable and non-restrictive clothing for your treatment. Sheets, pillows, and heat appropriate to your condition will be provided.
Please wear a mask if you are suspicious of being ill, however I will probably still ask to see your tongue.
It's best to have eaten about an hour before your treatment and to be sufficiently hydrated
Like any medical procedure acupuncture carries certain risks including pain during treatment, bruising, swelling, minor nerve damage, dizziness, and/or fainting.
More commonly, patients experience various sensations ranging from tranquility to electric movement to dstorted physixal sensations of the body
We clean all surfaces after each treatment. We change all linens between treatments, as well as disinfection of surfaces such as tables, chairs, bathroom, door handles. We allocate time between patients for each station to be cleaned.
You may feel extremely tired after your first few treatments; this will subside to some degree as progress is made.
If possible plan for rest and relaxation after your treatment. Eat well, avoid prolonged wet or cold exposure, and use the opportunity to implement healthy practises that will improve results.
Preferred methods of payment is E-transfers, but cash or cheques are also acceptable. Patents may opt to have a credit card on file in JaneApp. We do not bill private insurance, only ICBC and MSP. We will gladly provide email receipts upon receiving payment for submission.
Life happens. Cancellations are permitted on JaneApp up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time and can be completed online. After that time we reserve the right to charge for not showing up to your appointment without an email or an explanation.
If you are sick or have been in contact with someone who is contagious, please cancel online or via email, for everyone's health and safety. Appointments are subject to cancellation at my discretion if weather conditions are unsafe or my own health needs to be considered.
Rest. Hydrate. Nourish yourself. If you must return back to work, let your practitioner know. We expect most patients will go home and be quiet, calm, and integrate the work they just received. Avoid extremes in weather and surroundings for 30 minutes to 1 hour after treatment.
